![]() And yes, now Ergotron is building a replacement for the "holding head" of the HX, replacement that is going to cost us something close to 100$ (or 100€) over the price of the regular HX. But at that time a lot of people, me among them, had already bought the HX, which is an stunning device, but not exactly a cheap one (when you want quality you have to pay for it, ok). Once they knew it, they posted an advice in their website warning about this problem with the G9. ![]() Ok, I understand it.īut the point here is that Ergotron has been aware of this big issue with the HX and the Samsung Odyssey G9 only because we, the purchasers, warned them about it (I was one of them). Nevertheless, there is a big problem! The spring can't hold the monitor due to the curve. But there is a thing that I don't understand: our monitor is clearly under the maximum weight that the Ergotron HX can hold. It was at that point when I started to read the posts and threads here at Reddit.įortunately, Ergotron is working on a sollution for us the customers, which speaks good for them up to this point. Of course I have the same "tilt" problem, problem that I found once I mounted the arm and hanged the monitor on it, not before. I purchased an Ergotron HX (wall mount) about two months ago for my G9. I only spent $900 on the monitor, so it feels ridiculous to pay 1/3 of that for a monitor arm to mount it with.Īlso, I plan on using a sit-stand desk, so it has to be sturdy enough to hold it even when raising and lowering the desk.Subreddit of the 21:9 & 32:9 aspect ratio Join us on Discord! / Ultrawide Enthusiasts $350 + tax if I want it to work out of the box, $280 + tax if I want to mod it with stock tilt spring and likely void the warranty. The bolt on the tilt pivot has a horizontal orientation, instead of a vertical one like the Ergotron mounts, so I don't think the stock stand's tilt pivot will work with it, but I'm not sure.ĭoes anyone have any suggestions for monitor arms that are rated for the weight and that could be modified to use the stock stand's tilt pivot, preferably in black? I'm not sure I can justify spending ~$300 on the Ergotron HX. I tried the VIVO mount linked below, but tightening tilt didn't work to keep the G9 up. The monitor mount is only rated for 25 lbs. Some people have said that it works fine, but I've also seen mentions of it drooping or not working at angles below 90 degrees. However, I'm a little uncomfortable using something that isn't rated for the weight, like the amazon basics monitor mount. So, I've been looking for a suitable monitor mount for my Samsung Odyssey G9, and have read over some of the posts regarding suggestions and the hack to use the stock stand's tilt pivot.
